How does a middle-aged, white, middle class woman end up being called StrongDawg? I can tell you the story, but it isn't very interesting. I'd rather you make up your own story.
How does a middle-aged, white, middle class woman end up writing a blog about her struggles to stay healthy? That's also boring. You can make up your own story for that one, too. It will be better than anything that I can come up with. I can tell you that I used to write on a different platform under the name "StrongDawg." That platform is going away. I'm going to do my best to save my "best of" from there. Maybe some of them will end up here. Maybe not.
I have a lot of irons in the fire, as the cliched saying goes. I tell myself that I don't have a whole lot of time for writing, but somehow I manage to waste an hour or more every evening on youtube, so who am I kidding? I've got time.
I've spent many years trying to make other people happy at the expense of my own happiness. That is not a winning long-term strategy. I'm also getting older and I don't want to be a burden on others. Getting healthy is pretty important to me; physical health, financial health, and spiritual health. I'm not a decaying, falling apart at the seams train wreck, but I can do better.
I like to keep myself entertained. What's entertaining to me may not be so entertaining for you. I won't promise that I'll always be entertaining. You are welcome to follow along. Or not. I'm writing for myself and I don't mind if you follow along.
I'm so thrilled to be able to peek over your shoulder at what might entertain YOU! Not to mention happy to cheer along a fellow, um, let's call us "mature" lady as she strives to preserve her health on all fronts. Here's to the StrongDawg!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Barb. We will encourage each other. Although, I'm not so sure how mature we are.
ReplyDeleteHarrowjet found you. I expect I will always think of you as StrongDawg. Perhaps one day you will share the story and let us decide how boring it is. :) (I miss the Spark emoticons. I haven't learned how to make them myself).
ReplyDeleteJudy! My original name on Spark People was DogLady13. Somewhere along the way, FIFIFRIZZLE started calling me "Dawg" and it caught on with some others. I decided to change my name on SP, and landed on StrongDawg. See? Not very interesting. You can definitely come up with something better. LOL
DeleteI like that story and it makes sense. (smile)
DeleteGotcha!
ReplyDeleteThat is not a winning long term strategy. Glad you are here!
I have serious background envy. Just a tagalong, trying to keep up :D
The background is one of the stock backgrounds that Google provides with the blogger app.
DeleteI'm glad you found me.
